It’s vitally important for umpires, schools, organizations, and assignors to be on the same page. The best way to do that is to document the expectations of all parties so they are openly available and transparently conveyed.

Unedited Podcast Transcript
A few weeks ago I told you that I was going to start a podcast…or at least try to…about umpiring. I’ve been working on the parts to that. Getting it hosted, creating the artwork for it, doing a couple of sample recordings to test out my setup, and getting it submitted.
I’m happy to share that the prep work is complete and there are now three episodes publicly available. You can find Behind the Mask: the unseen side of umpiring on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and iHeart Radio, all available at no cost.
As I share in the first episode, I’m not sure if this will gain any traction, but I wanted to give it a try. It’s always been of interest to me and umpiring is something I know a little about, so why not?
I hope that, if you listen, you find these podcasts helpful or insightful and share them with your peers. I make no financial gain from producing them, but rather view it as (hopefully) another way to give back to the umpiring community. If you have topic ideas or are interested in being involved in a future recording, let me know!
Until next time, you can find Behind the Mask at the following links:
Apple Podcast, Spotify, iHeart Radio, and CISassigning.
